Excellent place I called ahead to see if they would stay open to serve me and they did by an hour past great place. Honest people!
Pricing is excellent, especially on repairs. Component pricing is also very competitive, typically lower than you'll find other places.
I've been buying and servicing my bikes at Merv's for the last 10 years and they are the best. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Great prices and service. I read an older post Merv's dog never barks if you are friendly. They are very friendly and the work is done when they tell you. Very friendly staff go to Merv's first you won't be disappointed.
Merv's is my favorite bike shop in the area. It's a bit unassuming from the outside, but inside is a plethora of both hardware, as well as knowledge and experience. Not your typical shop for sure. You might have to wait a little while they are dealing with another customer, but know that same level of attention is going to be paid to you. Staff is very friendly, and has a great memory when it comes to the customer's wants and needs.
Bought my first bike here. And the price and people were GREAT! I've seen a review about 8 years ago saying how bad this place is, that is NOT TRUE. This place is a very helpful place. Deserves 5
I really liked this shop. Way out in the middle of "nowhere", but a quick 2 1/2 miles to the nearby rail trail. I had not brought my bike with me on my 2-day getaway from Philly, and Merv's was really the only place in the Carlisle vicinity where I could rent a bike. I really wanted to go riding that day and it was great to find Merv's. The bike they rented me was an excellent Specialized hybrid - very solid and in great shape. Merv's has a good inventory of bikes and he and his staff are very knowledgeable. After I returned the bike, Merv took some time to patiently answer a number of detailed questions I had regarding the relative merits of hybrid models vs. mountain bikes. If you are in the area and need a rental, or want to purchase a new bike, I would highly recommend Merv's.
