Amazing staff, amazing room, and amazing price. As s college kid this is a great place to be. It’s a little farther from school but there is a free bus. Also the bus runs Thursday-Saturday nights for free for everyone to get home safely. I email them any time of the day and they respond within 24 hours if not 12 at maximum!
It has great housing and the workers are so nice.
The good: Other than the train tracks close by this place is quiet, but not a ghost-town. Because of the walking distance away from campus, there aren’t many open raging parties other than some tame private parties. I was glad to get away from the trashy underclassman natty/jungle juice, sweaty rave parties that prevail every weekend in other off campus housing places. Mostly upperclassmen live here with a few young professionals in the mix.

The Ugly: Due to Rocktowne’s weird move out and move in schedule, we moved in the day after the old tenants moved out, which meant our apartment wasn’t cleaned and was absolutely filthy. My bedroom/bathroom was completely covered in cat hair and the carpet was sticky in places, among other dirt and dust. Forced to clean it ourselves rather than wait until a cleaning crew could come. After cleaning it initially, my roommate & I kept the apartment very clean all year, frequently dusting, scrubbing down our bathrooms, and vacuuming floors/steps. Moving out we left our apartment spotless and I only got $67 of my security deposit back out of $250 for cleaning and painting charges.?.? We moved everything out and spent the entire day cleaning getting the baseboards, blinds, stove/fridge, cabinets, floor, steps, bedrooms, walls, bathrooms, shining and dust/dirt free.
The Bad: Bedrooms are decently sized but the common area and kitchen can get a little cramped with lack of storage space.
Great experience! Managerial staff is out of this world, amenities cannot be beat for the price. Any maintenance that needs to be done is done promptly. Housing units are clean and move in ready, grounds are kept clean and orderly. Not to mention the bus that runs 6 days a week to keep students safe and going to class. Made my college experience worth every penny
Landlord is a total witch that acts innocent but screws you over and takes your money. She makes you come to her for things at her convience and is not attenative to requests for things needing fixed in the home. Nice homes but the bull crap is not worth the price of rent. Don't live here if you have other options.
The shuttle bus runs every half-hour from 7:30am-5pm Mon-Fri and in addition 9:30pm-2am Thurs/Fri/Sat. The Rocktowne provided shuttle makes living at rocktowne super convenient because Mike the bus driver drops your off and pick you up right in front of the building you had class in and similarly will drop you off or pick you up from whatever bar you are at for the late night weekends.
